Employee involvement, key to successful real digitalisation
**Going beyond dematerialisation for 'real' digitalisation, a path that goes through employee
mobilisation!** A recent extensive study entitled "What keys to transform digitised companies into digital companies?" * points to a concerning phenomenon: a minority of companies implement genuine digital strategy. Most often, digitalisation remains more a form of dematerialising existing operating modes than genuine mobilisation of digital's new capabilities to improve both organizational processes and business models. Yet the study points out that one of the major keys to successful true digital transformation lies in employee involvement and mobilisation:
"Companies for which digital integration is led by employees (see table below) are those that assign the highest scores regarding the impact of digitalisation on the organization and on strategy evolution respectively 1 and 0.69 against only 0.83 and 0.55 when integration is carried out by an external company and only 0.78 and 0.49 when it is carried out by the leaders themselves. In more than 80% of the companies surveyed, it is the leaders who predominantly bear responsibility for integrating digital tools. Employees must therefore be much better integrated into thinking about their company's digital transformation."
Rely on employees who know the needs and can bring out new practices based on digital tools. This is a genuine issue of mobilisation and co-construction at the heart of the collective intelligence facilitation and organization coaching approaches practised by All Leaders Initiative!
